Just got my pre-ordered copy delivered this afternoon. Looking forward to diving into this. Still want to buy an eBook version for travel.

Just started poking my head back into the community after a few months off to deal with Real Life(tm), and tripped over mention of your new book. I'm very interested in checking it out, but I don't see any clear information on a non-dead-tree version. I have a little difficulty with printed words, and greatly prefer working with digital text. Do you know what the plans are in that vein? Will an HTML version be available, or will it just be locked up formats?

Hi Amy and Zack-- thanks for the interest in e-versions of the book. My understanding from the publisher is that the title will go on sale from various e-book retailers (Amazon Kindle and possibly others) later this month. I have not heard any information on pricing or exact formats.

Amy, I don't expect it will be made available in HTML format, since this is a textbook publisher worried about piracy etcetera... I'm hoping that one of the formats it shows up in will be one of the more accessible/common e-book standards, though. I'll post when I get more details.

BTW, it was cool to see you interviewed in the "Get Lamp" documentary by Jason Scott. It's a great movie, especially the bonus Infocom feature.

I wish they had included some more content on the significance of Inform on revitalizing the IF community though. That was a serious omission.

Interactive fiction is certainly very exciting. What do you think about Neal Stephenson's venture into it?
